Six years since I left the Royal Navy and became a Hackney driver in Plymouth.
Four times I have picked up at the Bus Station and the punter wants to go to the Gosport Ferry - Portsmouth!
Once I got asked for the Cathedral - no problem, when we get there the punter says "this is not the Cathedral, you can see HMS Nelson from the Cathedral"- Portsmouth!
And the best, the very best. "HMS VICTORY please driver" so I replied "Sir the Victory is in Portsmouth, this is Plymouth" What did he say? "@loody hell, thats the second time I got the wrong town and came here - I still havn't seen the Victory".

When you pull off the rank leave no cabs with a fare that's only going half a mile, drop off, run back, max 3 or 4 mins, punter jumps in..

Been waiting here over 20 mins, where's all the cabs?

Understandable at night when they're p!ssed but I work days.

When they come up to you first in a queue of a dozen cabs and ask if you're free or if you're working.

I can't make them understand it doesn't matter when they book it, it's a hackney circut it a cab aint avalable, it aint avalable.
