Two-timing Taxi Driver Bit Terrified Woman on Cheek

11th August 2008

A taxi driver who maintained two households brought his arrangement to an end when he assaulted his girlfriend by biting her on the cheek.

Hyndburn magistrates heard that Nasir Arif also had a wife and two children with each of the women in his life.

But his attack on the girlfriend was sparked by jealousy because he thought she was with another man.

Arif, 33, of Lister Street, Accrington, pleaded guiltyto assaulting Susannah Courtney.

He was ordered to do 80-hours of unpaid work and pay £50 compensation and £60 costs.

Charlotte Crane, prosecuting, said Miss Courtney was a friend’s house in Water Street when Arif came round and started shouting and swearing and calling her a “slag”.

He accused her of having a man in the house but was eventually persuaded to leave by the friend.

Arif returned in the early hours of the morning and Miss Courtney was so afraid she hid under the stairs.

He found her and dragged her out by the arms before biting her on the cheek.

Gareth Price, defending, said Arif had “unusual” domestic arrangements.

“He has a wife and children and also had a relationship with this lady with whom he also had children,” said Mr Price.

“He effectively maintained two households. He says the incident was not sparked by jealousy but by his concerns over the care of their children.”

I suppose its right for the taxi driver to have two ongoing relationships but not his partners. I also suppose if he was discriminated against he would be the first to squeal?

Off with his head.

A quickie divorce would have saved all the problems, all he had to say was i divorce thee 3 times.
And unless he has his own car he will find it hard to go visiting as he will be deemed unproper to drive a cab or PH

Obviously his commitment to two households left him short of money for food, hence his sudden conversion to cannibalism.

Ordered to do 80 hours unpaid work?

Surely a dawdle for any cabby, used to working under these conditions

That's what she gets for "turning the other cheek".

Or is this all a mistake? Did he really just act on saying that she was so gorgeous he could eat her?

Or did she just get restless when he was giving her a lovebite?

Who knows.
