seems to me to be another firm playing on the fear of woman passengers, but I think Grandad is right, the firm dont accept the booking, they pass the booking on to a subscribing firm in the area....in all probability they probably never see a booking.

Agruably, they never visit the firms either, and are merely looking for someone to give them a few quid to pass the job on.

Whilst the most obvious users of Ladycab.com would be women who’d feel safer travelling with a female driver, there are male users too.

Typically these are older men using a taxi to make a doctors or hospital visit, seeing relatives or going on a shopping trip. Their reason for choosing a female driver isn’t about fear of being attacked by a male driver, but more to do with pace and empathy. They feel that women are more understanding of their situation, more likely to travel at a comfortable pace and more accepting of any delays that might crop up.

In addition, the male passengers may feel more comfortable engaging in conversation related to the purpose of their visit with a woman driver.

The fact that there maybe male user of the web directory could be of concern to the independent lady drivers as this would give them access to their name and contact details. Ladycab.com has thought of this and offers anonymity to independent drivers who request it. They will appear in the directory as ‘Ladydriverxxxx’ and their real telephone number will be masked with an 0845 number.

I wonder if I register and ask for a female driver with breasts the size of Jordans......

Not exactly, they do not even get any enquiries. Any enquiry goes directly to the company that the customer chooses.

How Blatantly Sexist is that...we'd would never get away with a man only operation. Is it Acceptable under the Equality at work Laws??

Sadly I have to agree with you on this point. To actually get a decent google ranking they would have to spend thousands so no one is likly to find them. Apart from the fact that not that many people would be looking on google for a local taxi company.

I suspect they will get some sort of press when they officially launch their site, possibly national, but at the end of the day if a female wants a cab they will already have a local firm listed on their phone.

And even if they used the site, once they have used the local firm they wont use the site anymore.
