It depends on the size & type of wheelchair, & the size & sitting/lying position of the passenger.

It is accepted by all WAV manufacturers, that not all wheelchairs & their occupants will be able to be carried in their vehicles in the prescribed & correct manner, i.e. facing backwards, (or forwards in some of the newer Eurocabs), with the proper wheelchair & passenger restraints fitted.

A sensible and correct post.

The are some types of wheelchairs that cannot be accommodated by some types of licensed cabs. Obviously those councils that have a stringent policy of only licensing vehicles that comply with the COF know this. Whether or not that is discriminatory I'm sure we will find out in the not too distant future? Unless of course Liverpool back out at the eleventh hour?

I wonder which council Allied will turn their attention to next?

I've not contemplated that scenario but I'm sure you are right. Let me in on your train of thought?

Because they are a clueless bunch of buffoons (my word of the day), and if ever there was a time that Unite was in my corner I would be worried, very worried. 8-[

My money is on Liverpool pulling out and this is why?

If Liverpool lose then the judge might lay down the law to such an extent that it takes away the discretion of Liverpool to license vehicles that otherwise they would refuse. Are Liverpool that stupid that they have not thought of the consequences? I hope it does go to court and then it will be done and dusted for all concerned.
