I have just received a letter from our council as I still dont know how to up load things and as of yet site admin has not enabled this here it is word for word

Serious crime act 2007
The audit commission act 1998

I am notifying you that as part of its procedures for confirming the accuracy of information held in the various financial systems, the council will from October 2008, be participating in a data matching exercise.

This will involve passing information to Auditors for the national fraud initiative from the public register maintained under the Civic government (Scotland) act 1982, which will be used for the cross-system and cross-Authority comparison for the prevention and detection of fraud.
this exercise will be carried out on a regular basis in the future.

I would guess that it means your council will be passing on the data that it keeps on the public register such as the details of all private hire and taxi drivers.

They've been doing this for years here.. the taxman makes a request to the council for all the names and addresses of everyone that has been registered for the last year... and then the same next year..and other agencies..

I must've misread mine....I thought it read Dating and Matching and thought I'd got lucky...but i never had mine signed with five kisses like yours..there was no "Yours XXXXX" on mine. i smell favouritism at play here
