One of the Asda superstores in Dundee are allowing ( after striking a deal with 203020) PH's to sit on the store's compound awaiting a booking from the newly installed freefone. Now ! this is the best bit..The hackney rank within the store's compound is not properly marked, ( the hacks sit on yellow lines as no box, or sign indicating taxis has been painted) and i have just been informed that a PH was sitting between two hacks on the rank !! When one of the drivers phoned the Cab office he was informed that seeing there is no actual marked rank, that this was in his opinion, a grey area and, there was nothing he could do !! Another cracker !! one of the 203020 drivers is trying to charge the hacks £15.00 per wk to sit on the rank as he reckons he now owns this piece of the compound.. And yes !! the Council do still own the ground.. Asda lease it... getting sick o this banana republic :?

If it's the same up there as down here then the only thing allowed to sit on an authorized taxi rank is an authorized licensed taxi.

If however the rank hasn't been adopted by the local council, then that's bang your head on the wall time.

latest update on 203020/dundee private hite etc, they have been granted a 3 year extension for permission to use the car lot at fat sams as a pick up point, the head of transportation visited the site and found nothing wrong with what was going on there, seems to be a lot of officials with bad eyesight in dundee at the moment, they are also knocking a pound off all fares for a week starting at the end of the month, the trade is sitting back doing nothing as usual
