Only a man can be charged with indecency something to do with an old members bill
mind you if there is not a public convenience open (not a pub) within 150 yards they cannot charge a man either

You can legally still pee against the off side back wheel of your cab as long as you keep one hand on the vehicle and have a bail of hay in the boot

No she was booked for urinating in a public place. She was a passenger in my car.

Wasn't that woman from Eastenders done for indecency or something for giving a blow job in a car?

So you where on a motorway or duel carriageway, what was she ment to do????????????????? how far away where the nearest public toilets
Did she get a fine or a warning, if she was fined she should have challenged it.
When I took a load of folk down to Yarm last year there where several pee stops mostly in laybys, so with 16 of them men and women going at the same time I even had to pull over on the duel carriageway just after Darlington, and the police just drove past

The nearest services were about 10 miles further down the road but they may as well have been in another country with traffic stationary. I don't know the outcome but she was reported by the policeman and given a ticket of some kind. There were no fixed penalty tickets back then.

Women’s group call for ‘pink taxi’ service

A LANARKSHIRE council are to investigate the possibility of establishing a women-only taxi service.

At a meeting of North Lanarkshire Council’s corporate services committee, councillors referred the matter to the authority’s legal services department who will look at the feasibility of the proposal.

Motherwell and Wishaw Soroptimists submitted an 88-signature petition to the authority asking them to establish a ‘Pink Taxi’ scheme in the area.

The petition called for the introduction of taxis, driven by women for women passengers. Soroptimists believe the scheme will provide a safe environment for late-night travel.

Jennifer Moffat, programme action officer for Motherwell and Wishaw Soroptimists, said: “A lot of women worry about travelling on their own late at night so we put together the petition to see if there was something that could be done to help this problem.

“We understand that women already have the right to ask for a female driver when they call for a taxi but there may not be one available or they may have to wait for some time.

“Many women who signed the petition thought that it would be a good idea. “Even if we could raise awareness that some women do not feel safe travelling alone at night, perhaps more could be done to reassure these women.”

Private-hire taxi firm Redline Cabs, who are based in Motherwell, welcomed any measures that would reassure women travellers but had doubts about the ‘pink cab’ proposal.

Redline owner Raymond Oats said: “I don’t see how it would work. At the moment, I have 14 women taxi drivers but they don’t work at night; they don’t want too.

“Of course, if someone phones and books a taxi and asks for a female driver we will do our best to ensure that happens.

“Our drivers at the moment undergo a police check and we have a tracking device on our system already in place for our drivers.

“I also ask my drivers if they pick up a woman on her own to wait until she is safely in the house.

“I welcome any suggestions that make female taxi-users feel safer and would be happy to carry them forward onto our system but with this proposal I don’t see how it is going to work.”

The Soroptimists have also submitted a second petition, signed by 94 people, urging the council to consider establishing a sexual assault referral centre within Motherwell Police Office.

Jennifer said: “We are looking at getting something set up similar to the Archway centre in Glasgow.

“Archway is a dedicated round-the-clock support service for people who have recently suffered rape or sexual assault.”

This petition has not yet been discussed by the authority. Both petitions were available for visitors to sign at an information stall set up by the Soroptimists at Motherwell Library.

The organisation were prompted to compile the petitions after working closely with Women’s Aid groups in the county and with the Lanarkshire Rape Crisis Centre.

Jennifer also met SNP MSP Christina McKelvie last Friday to discuss their proposals.

She added : “She seemed very interested in our issues and is going to follow it up. She has also advised us to send our petitions to the Scottish Parliament.”

If the ladies want equal rights and equal pay etc its only fair the should be treated equally too...imagine the Shouts of of Sexual inequality if we had male only drivers driving men only to say men only clubs...its Ridiculous that a ladies only service could even be considered. Im all for safety for the ladies but if they book reputable firms they will get reputable drivers of both sexes.

Its hard enough making a living in taxiing and PH these days without the fact that because your born male it will go against you and denying you work in certain areas and alienate potentially 50% of the human race from using you. as for the risk factor, well the Idea of a firm supplying lady drivers on demand lays open the door of oppertunity for any sex maniac to book a lady driver under false pretences and makes them easy prey. All thats going to happen is the lady passenger may benefit from a neglible amount of extra safety if any. Besides..the threats facing the vast majority of lady passengers are blown completely out of all proportion to the actual risks involved. There is probably a far bigger risk to women from being drunk and stupidly using a bogus Taxi rather than any real Taxi.

Im not Sexist and certainly im not callous, I am a realist..its not fair and nor is it beneficial to anyone..thats my opinion, provided that in this age of PC madness and the Phobic public fear that everything and everyone is perceived to be a threat, that im still allowed to voice an opinion for fear that I should appear a sexual Bigot. Where will it stop..Pink Police..Pink ambulance Drivers...Pink Pilots...where???

Well I hope you feel better now you've got that off your mind  There's nothing wrong with Pink it's one of my favourite colours well sparkly pink is. As it was said earlier in this post these things come and go they never stay and seldom make money for any sustainable length of time. I personally agree that having an all female crew driving taxis is a bad idea and not safe at all. If one has a problem how are they going to get help unless all the other female drivers are 'all in wrestlers'. I for one would not work any such company because I personally wouldn't feel safe and there is one thing I know for sure where I am and that is if I have a problem I've got the help of a lot men for support and that is the only way I can do this job :D

Pink taxi proposal for North Lanarkshire

NORTH Lanarkshire Council are investigating a proposal to introduce a women-only taxi service.

It was brought forward by Soroptimist International of Motherwell and Wishaw who have submitted an 88-signature petition to the corporate services committee.

As a way of highlighting the problem of violence against women they want to see "pink Taxis" on the road which would be driven by women for women.

I may be wrong...but isnt Sexual discrimination a Two way thing??...Or even Three Ways if your on a Transgender Journey???

In my experience the worst passengers are the ones with sharp pointy things that they try to stick in you.. and then have the audacity to call the police..... when all you have done is give them a slap or two , they could possibly have lost a tooth and maybe need a few stitches, and then taking them to the middle of nowhere and relieving them of their shoes. and they get upset.....
