Renfrewshire Council is most helpful when taxi plate holders want to transfer 'their' plates to a new 'owner' http://alturl.com/3jm Are any other Scottish local authorities as helpful ?

Aberdeen are very helpful with this sort of thing.

Although all new licences since 1995 are supposed to be WAV, they will allow certain people to transfer saloon licences - sometimes even after the death of the licenceholder

They won't however issue saloon licences to drivers who are too disabled to load a wheelchair into a WAV. :?

They also turn a blind eye to plateholders assigning their plates to another driver's car.

Licence plates are non-transferable me auld China, according to the Civic Act (1982). Your council should be issuing new plates. Oh and btw, you don't own shi*.

I know it goes on but it's a highly dubious practice.

The form says "surrender and re-issue"
That's how they get around this

"surrender and re-issue" ah well, that makes everything in the world rosy . . . .
