Who in the private hire trade?

Or is it all top secret?

You don't know the private hire firm who made the complaint, you don't know who wrote the letter of support, what do you know?

I know this much Charles, it appears to me that you and some others in the Bolton hackney and private hire trade have closed your mind to uncovering the facts surrounding this incident. Have you ever contemplated the fact that you might be riding the wrong horse?

It would also appear that you and your colleagues are somewhat misguided as to the law in respect of a restricted psv operator license.

Keep on reading TDO you might learn something.

Regards

JD

I'm saying in order to be even handed you need to have an open mind and form a final opinion only when you are in command of all the facts and I do mean all the facts. I highlighted the fact that that there was more to this story than what appeared in the press and until all the facts are out in the open people should not rush to judgement. In your case it would appear you and some of your colleagues have "rushed to judgement" without being in possession of all the facts.

I suggest you open your mind and get both sides of the story. Unfortunately you will have to do that by yourself.

Regards

JD

Seems to me someone was trying to circumvent licensing law.

That may or may not be the case, but why would a councillor, and a senior one at that, try his best to get around licensing laws that have been bought in for the sole reason of keeping people safe? :?

Does he not realise that the pervs, the thugs, the thieves, the scum, will be looking at the way this councillor has tried to get around safety procedures, and think we will have some of that?

I fully agree.

As JD said....we only have half of the story, but I wonder why the 'trade' were apparently in favour of a councillor who primarily admitted guilt by accepting the caution, and secondly was removed from the regulations they are subjected to?

Do you know what an admission of guilt is?

Quote:
Yesterday, Bolton Council withdrew the case at Bolton Magistrates’ Court as Cllr Hornby accepted the caution — which means he admitted the offences. His previous “not guilty” pleas were “vacated” — removed from the court.

Why would an innocent person admit to guilt?

But what were the allegations of the actual circumstances, do you know? Was the investigation not instigated by a private hire company who was aggrieved that a suspected unlicensed vehicle and driver had undertook a private hire booking to which they were contracted?

What reason do you have for keeping the identity of this private hire company a secret?

Regards

JD
