You mean you had to do the NVQ that costs more but hey at least it's free. You can't have wasted that much time from work seeing as you don't do that much of it anyway if you can help it, well according to one of your threads that is. It's a shame you don't want to help your fella cabbies with all your knowledge you'd be fab on the NVQ's as an assessor or a deliverer of the course. Perhaps you think it's all beneath you though :D

money wasted on nvq should be spent on cctv
time wasted on nvq could have been spent on golf course
yep nvq beneath me cos its rediculous learn more reading tdo for half an hour than all those hours wasted on btec nvq vrq crap   :-o

If you had a valid argument against the Btec/VRQ/NVQ you should have presented it to your LA. You obviously don't or if you did you are socially inept and can't get that point across.

With regards to providing CCTV to all taxi drivers why is it you feel this should be funded by the council. They don't fund CCTV for all other businesses at risk. It seems to me that you keep forgetting that you are self employed and you are responsible for your own safety. Perhaps those drivers that hire vehicles for the purpose of taxi driving should make a request to the person whom they are hiring from to have CCTV installed for them and their safety.

And the Peterborough lads are fighting not to have mandatory CCTV.

I wonder how many of them will need to be murdered before a change of mind occurs?

I don't have my snout in a trough, but, I suppose I could if I wanted to and maybe eventually I will. I could have my snout in a different trough the kind of trough that has drivers working my cars so I don't have to. There will always be snouts and there will always be troughs it's enterprise

A solicitor is a good idea if you don't know what you are doing or you need to put forward a reasonally good argument. Out of curiosity how much did it cost you to bring this matter to the courts?

Still no good reason as to why the council should pay?

For the record I believe CCTV should be a choice not a regulation.

It would appear that the money was easy-ish to get because it was in part of a regeneration scheme area.

Any ideas on a starting point to research the availability of funds? Our LO says she doesn't know of any funding available but admits she hasn't done the research.
