Well if a one street town in Scotland is worth 50k, that makes a Brighton cab worth 4 million, get off yer box and get real, you're just another two bob wannabe trying to influence things through a website, I can't think why you came here tbh, you say you are an accountant, what possible experience or input can you offer a trade you know nothing about...

No, I said I worked in tax for a couple of years. Past tense.

But even if I was an accountant then I would at least be able to state the facts about tax instead of the stuff you're posting.

And isn't tha a bit rich from a taxi driver from the south of England who thinks he knows more about the Perth taxi trade than those actually in Perth, thinks he knows more about tax than a person who he thinks is an accountant, and is also an expert on the door trade?

other than to claim the 1st 5k of allowances for a S/E person, rumbled, another parasite trying to influence things for the worse, 90% of this site is PH drivers, only one states his intention...wannabeahack, at least this guy is honest, now brush up, cos I've already educated you on something you should know that you didn't

Well I'm a taxi driver with a taxi plate in a restricted area, and you've certainly educated me on something, but I don't think it's what you think

Ok, I'll try to explain it

1 - The taxman, it was the Taxman who told me how the plate profit and loss system works during an investigation, so unless you think he's a liar I think what I wrote was the truth.

2 - I know it's Scotland and I know that there's not a lot of money about outside of the major cities, so 50k to buy a plate in a small area seems a bit unrealistic to me, I don't think I'm anything, I was trying to help ppl who may think they have lost all under deregulation, who might be reading, is that ok to try to help ppl, as for the door trade, I know the difference between a bouncer and a selector, one kicks trouble makers out, the other tries to keep them out but when he's got a live one he doesn't always get in there as quick as a bouncer would.

3 - Inland Revenue Service, but you knew that anyway didn't you.

Anyway if this isn't a reasonable explaination then there's no more I can add to it, and we'll have to agree to disagree.

Live long and prosper ( oh f**k theres no Spock icons )

Perth and Kinross council area has a population of 142,100 (2001 census), with 42,450 in Perth.

70 Taxis means 1 for every 600 people.
By comparison
Aberdeen has 1 for every 250 people.
Edinburgh has 1 for every 350 people.

No real surprise their plates have a high value.
