Taxi and politics,no thank you.
TDO may lose out on membership regarding this new party.
Probably an ousted minor councillor,is behind this.
Too late to close the doors for new blood coming into the trade, although must be pointed out, that there is roughly 200 Wavs in Dundee,to look after
roughly 250 wheelchair bound people, who cannot transfer from the chair.
Good ratio,as all can see.
We have now an increase of 25% extra cabs in Dundee, and the keen newer lads, although making a living doing horrific hours, are starting to find out the realities of over capacity in the trade.
30 licences have not renewed and more thinking of taking off vehicles.
Next few months, with holidays and students from the universities away,
this city,s taxi trade is in for a shock.

Happy Chappie.

Dont agree, I think its high time this council knew exactly what we are thinking, not only are they destroying the taxi trade but also the bar & fast food industries too!!
Lets give them a shake and start our own party, I wish you all the best of luck, and you can all count on my vote!!
but if successful DONT fall in the trap and accept thick 'brown envolopes'

How long have you been skint, before or after the new licenses.
This new political party WILL NOT go ahead, they will be bickering even before the inception.
Do not clutch at straws, the only person to help you is yourself, not some failed despot, trying to make a name for himself.
If they want this to succeed,be open, say who is behind the party(financing
it) and who is standing for the elections.

Happy Chappie.

I have been taxiing for, coming up for 16 yrs, maybe you are correct, however I do think that this council needs looking at, one of there members , who was convening the licensing commitee and deciding who is fit and proper to hold licences, has just been charged with drink driving...the cheek of it!!! so maybe I was getting a bit carried away with the 'new party'.

I thin a party should be set up and funds transferred to you,so that you can sign off, filthy rich instead of skint.
