A TAXI driver who allegedly raped a dogwalker in a park had a long-standing interest in violent sex websites, a court has heard.

Stephen Ord is accused of attacking the 58-year-old as she took her pet on an early-morning walk in Calderstones Park.

The 37-year-old is further charged with assaulting a pensioner intending to carry out a sexual attack.

Liverpool crown court heard after Ord's arrest police seized his computer and discovered he regularly visited a string of rape websites. Anya Horwood, prosecuting, told jurors officers discovered he had downloaded 12 films of “forced, simulated sexual activity”.

They also discovered he often accessed websites with names associated with forced sexual activity.

Ord, of Acuba Road, Wavertree, denies assault by beating and committing that offence with intent to commit a sexual offence on March 30 and rape on April 11.

Miss Horwood said in the first incident a 77-year-old woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was pounced on as she walked to a coffee morning through an alleyway by Northway Park.

Her attacker asked her a sexually explicit question.

He then grabbed her by the shoulder, put his arm round her neck and repeatedly punched her to the back of her head.

But he fled after the elderly woman screamed for help.

When the woman staggered out the alleyway she spotted a blue Hackney carriage taxi driving off.

Miss Horwood said less than two weeks later the second woman was walking her dog when she was grabbed and punched to the ground.

Her attacker raped her.

Miss Horwood said the woman managed to bite the man’s private parts causing him to run away.

She told how the woman's daughter, who was sat in a car outside the park, had seen a man emerge from a blue taxi with his trousers down and go into the park. Minutes later she saw the same man vaulting over the wall, still with his trousers down, get in the cab and speed away.

Shortly after the woman's mother emerged from the park crying and bruised. Ord was stopped by police in a light blue taxi two days later. When he was seen by a police doctor it was discovered he had a bruise on his private parts.

While neither of the women picked Ord out during an identity parade, the second woman's daughter did select him. Miss Horwood said CCTV footage taken from homes close to the scenes of both crimes provided “strong support” it was Ord's cab that had been seen.
