Why the face?

If the lad is innocent of the charge, then that's the way it is.

This just plays into the BNP's hands.
I can hear it now: "one law for them and another for us"

Everything plays into their hands, cos they will never be in power to do anything.

Bit like those bloody greens.

Maybe not in this case Gus, but it certainly rings true these days, personally I think he was as guilty as hell, but saying that I'd rather get called a cracker etc and be able to retort with something equally suitable than walk the eggshells we do now.

Burnley man cleared of racially abusing BNP leader Nick Griffin

AN ASIAN man was cleared today of racially abusing BNP leader Nick Griffin.

Tauriq Khalid, 23, denied shouting "white [edited by admin]" at far-right demonstrators in his home town of Burnley, in November last year.

A jury of five women and seven men cleared Khalid of one count of using racially abusive threatening behaviour after deliberating for 45 minutes following a three-day trial at Preston Crown Court.

Khalid admitted shouting derisory comments from his car window at BNP demonstrators outside Burnley police station.

He told the jury he stopped his silver Vauxhall Astra and shouted "Nick Griffin, you f****** w*****" and made a V-sign with his fingers.

He also admitted he shouted several times "get the f*** out of Burnley, you're not welcome here".

But he denied making a gun gesture towards Mr Griffin, a North West MEP with an office in Burnley, or that he indicated he intended to shoot him.

He told the jury: "I shouldn't have done what I done really, it was just a spur of the moment thing."

Khalid was arrested after one of the protesters noted down his car's registration number and complained to police.

He declined to comment as he left court.

Mr Griffin said of the jury's verdict: "They saw all the evidence, I accept their decision."
