You never had a case in the first place.

Here's a better question though.

What's the GMB doing about it?

You represent them as a union.

leave the decent hard working mini-cab drivers out of this!

They are out of this by virtue of the fact they've done nothing. :?

This article is about the eight or so immigrant drivers from the Minicab trade who commit sexual assaults on their passengers every month.

The figures are there from the MPS for anyone who wishes to study them.

Then why do you keep posting the same kind of stuff over and over again? If it's there for people to find they'll find it if they're so minded. They don't need people gleefully making FOI requests so they can post it here triumphantly.

I think the point he's making is that you're deliberately muddying the waters and doing a guilt by association thing. Your own posts in this thread alone show your bias ("one our side, hundreds on yours").

Perhaps there is something to be said about the licensing of individuals and how the LA's are doing it but the last thing the discussion needs are single-issue broken records arguing from an openly biased position.

My case is that your only reason for highlighting problems within the London Private Hire industry is for your own personal financial gain.

I represent the members of the Southern Region Professional Drivers Branch and I would advise you to contact the Branch Secretary of the London Professional Drivers Branch for information of that nature.

What it tells you is that the LA's of the country who say they cannot refuse a license are talking out the back of their necks. As in any job a person has got to be suitable, unfortunately many are not.

The LA's have caused the problem with their slap dash approach to the job, and it should be firmly put back into their court.

I felt a tremor within The Force just for moment there. Image

Anyway, back to Cabby John's post.

You're correct, but as long as people from distant parts with no PNC checkable backgrounds are allowed licenses, this will continue unabated.

How can someone from war torn Afghanistan arrive here with no 'checkable' background and two months later he's got his little Sat nav and is claiming to be a 'cabbie'.

Only in Britain.

Your perceived reason surely?

Get real BB, they're the competition, by acting in the way that they do, we don't have to give them any bad publicity, they do that on their own . . . strangely enough just like the person you mention at the end of your post.

Well they would'nt.

And the more people who choose a licensed Taxi over a Minicab, then the more business for us.

Thats fact. Even Communists understand facts.

Don't they?

maybe another?

Students and staff have united in a campaign called Manchester for Jobs and Education against the recently announced 127 redundancies as the “first wave” of job cuts at the Manchester Metropolitan University. It was formed by the three unions at MMU - Unison, GMB and the UCU - while Communist Students and student members of the Socialist Workers Party and Permanent Revolution are also involved in the campaign.

It doesn't matter who the communists are. You've started to use logic and fact and got the heart of the matter with one or two posts. He'll now resort to name calling, spurious arguments and pulling stuff out of his arse to sound clever. If you get all three plus the bonus of a sweeping generalisation in one post I think you win something.
