Reports are reaching TDO of an incident last night in Bolton where a taxi rep was punched whilst voluntarily maintaining order at a taxi queue.

It is not understood if the assailant was caught after the incident.

Reports suggest the taxi rep wasnt employed by anyone to keep control of the taxi queue but took it upon himself.

The aims of this individual have to be admired, however the job of controlling revellers at a taxi rank is for professioanls who are paid to do so. Lets hope the individual concerned is not hurt and this incident might encourage the LA concerned to take a look at this issue.

Regards
BB

Amir Khan in training on Bolton's Taxi Ranks

Image

Amir Khan has today told TDO that he credits his recent world title defence to his rigourous training schedule which includes standing on taxi ranks in Bolton.

"You can just be standing there waiting for a cab, then all of a sudden some crackpot will come up to you and ask you to wait in line, saying do you know who I am", commented Khan

On a serious note, if it is Charlie I wish him well.

There are far too many folks in the trade that sit around and do f*** all, so if a person fronts up and voluntarily works as a taxi Marshall, surely we should support him.

I don't believe we should support somebody who is foolish enough to take a job like this upon themselves. Having said that I hope whomever it was is ok for their ordeal and perhaps has learned that trying to organise drunks is not as easy as it looks and not in the best interests of their health
