I suspect that you want to get into cctv industry making some extra cash, am I right?

Not really to make extra cash, I'm in fact giving it away, got 10 units for Bradford Cabbies that won't cost a single penny.

Why only Bradford drivers :?

Because I live here, my father and been a cabbie since 82, i've been one for 5 years so what better place to start than here.

I'll be going around the country when other councils allow it.

Bang on. Your gut instinct is one of the best tools you have.
Don't ignore it...
Your life is worth more than a good fare, no matter how skint you are.

The thing is Gusmac, the ones who don't use their gut instincts are usually the numbskulls anyway......  8)

I have two cameras and a small screen showing what those cameras are recording.

Massive deterrent.

They allow CCTV just not my system, only relaxed councils allow advertising on/in HC & PH vehicles.

The future will be free CCTV, paid for by advertising, for all those that want it.

All that's stopping things at present is the lack of advertising revenue in today's economical climate.

But in five years I think things will be different.

In Dundee recently they collected signatures to stop the council making it compulsory.I think it is a good idea but only if it could be funded by the police or the council .

I read a news report recently about a council who made CCTV compulsory at a cost of £700, thats gotta hurt.

Not surprising that Dundee partitioned, the industry struggles enough without having to pay out £700.

A few year ago I leased a CabCCTV system, worked out at £900 over 3 years, kit broke after 13 months, system never got replaced and in the end they collected the broken unit and cancelled the lease.

Spoke to a Leeds Cabbie yesterday who had an all-in-one unit, who ever thought that would be a good idea, they take the camera, they take the evidence.

lol@Brummie Cabbie clearly unhappy with your motor. I'm heading for NEC today for Security Event so I may be speaking to some cabbies whist i'm around.

I got an Xtron system about 3 or 4 years ago. They have been down several times to check it and yes it's still working.
I have had lads kicking off in the car cos I had asked control to get cops to meet me at destination and they heard me despite my best efforts to disguise it. However the presence of the camera on the dash made sure it was only verbals I suffered. It cost them £80 on the spot fines from the cops.

ps I have only ever had one yes one unpaid fare since I got the camera installed
