You mean the committees are gonna offer the owners a discount because they negotiated a deal which had no clause protecting their contract terms and lulled owners into a situation where they are "cuckolded" first chance the airport got?

That's a quality management that could do that  NOT!!

After shelling out shedloads to be stiffed by a couple of cabbies, members are now being asked by their committees to shell out to be stiffed again.

BTW A wee birdie tells me that the city/central brotherhood's black taxi rank is gonna be buried round the back of the building after the current makeover of the airport. Also that it's gonna be resstricted to 10 spaces.

That's some deal. For £38 per month and two bucks a pop, you don't even get to rank on the social club that is the airport rank. You're gonna have to do your whingeing in the back of beyond

A great ploy by the airport or what. You've moaned so much about getting into the airport that we let you. And you've shelled out big time for it. Now we show you where the power lies.

Out of sight out of mind

Enjoy boys

Anyone want to buy a plate

Oops silly ol' me. Plates have no intrinsic value. Go straight to the poorhouse, do not pass go, do not collect £200 ....

Businessmen?

Pmsl.......... a drink that should be amusing. I mean you speak in an accent I have difficulty understanding and well I have blonde moments which I'm sure you'll have difficulty understanding. I think the drink would have to be coffee, but, nonetheless when I'm up your neck of the woods I'll let you know :D

Ali there drivers are telling me that the disscount is not working as well as u may have been told and the reason is there is a big drop in work right now for every one

irrelevant! as the punter will already be in there car and not your's what price they get doesn't matter.
once there gone there gone

not quite the case ali as there is a number of passanger that i and other have picked up have told us they will no longer use the PH again due to poor service, going the wrong way, sticking a big amount of extras on etc etc now i agree we will loose a few punters to them as will they to us its the nature of the buisness but like i said the disscount is not working the way it used to do when it only used to be 20% and this is down to the way the ship is being run and the quality of some drivers which is a shame as they have a good bunch that know the job and do it well

iam not just saying this for the sake of it this is what there drivers have told me why not ask a few when u are fueling up

i think they will be after the tourist side.but it hardly matters as a fare is a fare is a fare, and when there in someone else's motor that revenue that would have normally come to you is gone forever.
this is death from a thousand cuts.
a margiaota,tesco,starbucks. scenario.
flood the market to cause the enemy harm and when your damaged so badly they can then look at whats profitable and whats not and cut back on whats not.
simples

The first casualty here will be the blacks. They'll come back into town and increase competition for streetwork.

This makes it more imperative than ever that drivers get control of their own vehicle so that they can work when the marketplace is busy.

The alternative is the status quo, when drivers are paying rental for a shift they don't want to work.

£48 last night. £12.00 diesel. Rental £45.00. In essence I paid £9 to sit in someone else's taxi.

With my own vehicle I would not have worked. 2 hours extra Friday,Saturday,Sunday would have given me a night off, more quality time with the family, and the public a better chance of getting a cab on the busier nights.

The maddening thing is that if we were starting with a blank canvas and someone said look I have an idea, let's set up taxi licesing, we''ll restrict the number so that we can give the guys a false undersupply premium on the licence and the shortage will hike rentals and force ranks to be clogged during quiet time - they just wouldn't be allowed to do it.

Human rights and competition rules would never allow this status quo to be set up from scratch.

And that's the test of why the whole kit and caboodle needs modernised.

There will always be a black cab rank at the airport. It won't be closed for sole use of the PH. And guys that work the airport will still work the airport.

If you belive that the PH will take over sole use of the rank or will dominate the use then your beyond having a reasonable discussion over this. As per it comes full circle to your unfettered access bullsh*t again. You can't help yourself.

You think there will ALWAYS be a black taxi rank at the airport?

This is only a recent development. It can be taken away in a heartbeat.

In fact, there are already airports in the UK that are controlled by PH. There because they were the highest bidder.

ECPH are gonna squeeze you out of the market.

End of.

Dearie me!

Listen, you don't seem to understand the game. We're doing this by using the system to beat itself, without the expense of going through the court.

Of course, anyone wants to shell we'll take the case in tomorow, and win. We'll bring de-restriction within the month rather than the situation we're in now where it's gonna happen by Christmas.

You may not realise that the Scottish Government is here and now looking at ways to de-restrict the trade, while protecting itself from any liability.

It's game over. Get used to it. Your wee businessman illusion is disappearing faster than the invective that spills out of knobend Travis Gladstone's gob.

PS Word is that the Taxi Forum, remember it?, is under extreme investigation for its racist rants.

Wanna bet it won't last till Christmas. In fact isn't it already dead?

Money WILL dictate who operates at the Airport

What's wrong with a bit of competition? It's fair and without discrimination

You say ECPH are going to squeeze us out!!!

Is there 30% DISCOUNT legal? that is the question :?:

Can ECPH prove that the 30% discount is being discounted by every driver? The onus would be on ECPH to prove this if say Trading standards where put on the case  Trade discriptions act!!! Breaches maybe

The public perception of the Private hire is not good is it, many a black cabbie has heard a story or ten concerning being ripped off by the PHC and it's mainly ECPH as they are the ones offering the discount, the discount their drivers put back on as extra's

Short term the Trade is sorting it's self out but in the long term (1year max) The Trade will be the TRADE to provide the paying customer the greatest service our Trade has seen, EVER

If ECPH are going to take all the work at the Airport, does this mean they will lose city centre work as a result of trying to cover the work at the Airport? This has happened to some black cab companies has it not

MASS MULTI PLATE HOLDERS YOUR DAY'S ARE NUMBERED

Money WILL dictate who operates at the Airport Wink

Not entirely the case. But you can be sure that the alleged co-operative model you have just extended your businessman illusion into, can't possibly. Well not unless it sacrifices its drivers. Cos it will be they who pay the cost of any competitive response, not the owners.

What's wrong with a bit of competition? It's fair and without discrimination Wink

You're taking the pash. Like the competition you deny taxi drivers, whom YOU expect to exist only as canon fodder for your scumbag vested interest. So, dougie, stick your  where it hurts the most

You say ECPH are going to squeeze us out!!!

Do you doubt it? I would if it were not that you're a raving fecking lunatic and completely servile to a system that couldn't blow a hole in a paper bag, far less serious competition. You see dougie, and this is the rub, our trade is controlled by amateurs who think the are businessmen.

Is there 30% DISCOUNT legal? that is the question Question

A question asked by who exactly? Anyone with half a wit wouldn't even ask such an inane question. Do you see the council saying it's illegal? That's a big clue for you dougie. A real big clue. Surely even you can get the answer, eh?
[/color]

Can ECPH prove that the 30% discount is being discounted by every driver? The onus would be on ECPH to prove this if say Trading standards where put on the case Wink Trade discriptions act!!! Breaches maybe Wink

Christ it's like dealing with a child. ECPH don't have to have every driver offering the full discount. The clue is in "up to". If there's a problem then it is of the council's own making. Do you see any sign of them policing this tariff? For example, what random tests have the cab office put in place to prove the tariff is being applied? I suspect none.

And don't go down the Trades Description route. This is just something else that you shoot your mouth off about but with no real knowledge of what it means. So, let's no go there dougie, eh?

The public perception of the Private hire is not good is it, many a black cabbie has heard a story or ten concerning being ripped off by the PHC and it's mainly ECPH as they are the ones offering the discount, the discount their drivers put back on as extra's Laughing

Proof dougie? Or just more wishful thinking from one with no answers?

Short term the Trade is sorting it's self out but in the long term (1year max) The Trade will be the TRADE to provide the paying customer the greatest service our Trade has seen, EVER Wink

So the trade is sorting itself out in the short term? How exactly? What is it doing to compete with ECPH dougie? (aside - hold laughter until the paragon of business explains all)

If ECPH are going to take all the work at the Airport, does this mean they will lose city centre work as a result of trying to cover the work at the Airport? This has happened to some black cab companies has it not Wink

No you raving feckwit it means they will buy another 100 skodas and service both the airport and the town work as well. Jeeze. This an example of your trade sorting itself out in the short term? If you don't nderstand the basics ....

MASS MULTI PLATE HOLDERS YOUR DAY'S ARE NUMBERED Think they fear you dougie?

nudge nudge Wink Wink Laughing Laughing
Starting in the WEST of course Wink

What is it you drink dougie? From the quality of this post I suspect it has to be Absinthe. I expect to see you on the rank minus a left ear
