What do you sugest? Ban anyone with a firearms certificate from driving a taxi?
Any law made in haste as a reaction to an event usually ends up being a bad law.

According to the bbc this morning the row was over a will and 2 fellow cabbies shot dead I see the next one he went for was a chelsea tractor driver and then a cyclist sounds like he has the same pet hates as many of us ! The only difference being he went too far with his "retaliation"

I wonder how many cabbies up and down the country are going to get wound up by customers cracking "gun and nutter" jokes this weekend

Start looking at the punters with wide eyes and a mad grin......

Perhaps some folks in certain areas should take note.

I was not meaning the gun laws i was saying the government should listen to the trades concerns because people are finding it hard and drivers are at breaking point.

if every disgruntled or hacked off taxi driver started a shoot up it would be like "Gunfight at the OK Coral"

it seems the fact a taxi driver was involved was pure coincidence maybe

I got a Shotgun certificate just to allow me to Transport customers shotguns between Shoots, Gunsmiths hotels etc even though I neither own a shotgun or even do any shooting.

And to be honest....If I was mental enough to have a loony urge to kill a dozen or even a hundred people then I could do it Just as easily with A car or even a Box of matches...and they are hardly like to ban the use of those two Items!!!

Maybe they should get licensing department to do a shed lot more enforcement than they do at present.

Then folks who queue jump, treat other drivers and punters like sh**, overcharge or run sh** motors, can be booted off.

Now this killer was a nut case of the highest order, but we all know areas and drivers where cheating is the norm and the scum rule the roost.

We need rid of them, but not via the gun.

From the BBC news site:

Quote:
Lib Dem MP John Pugh questioned how a "simple taxi driver could possibly justify the apparently lawful possession of such a formidable and devastating arsenal" and how killings could be prevented in future. Mrs May said it would not be right for her to comment before the police inquiry was completed

Obviously in the eyes one Lib Dem MP all Taxi drivers are "Simple" and should not be allowed to own a couple of guns (hardly an arsenal)..surely Taxi drivers or PH drivers have just as much right to enjoy hunting with guns for Sport as anyone else in society has..even as much rights as a smart arse, self righteous yet obviously superior Lib Dem MP has to enjoy a bit of pigeon shooting!!!!!

Prat!!!

I always suspected driving for a living was about as low as low could get in the view of our politicians...now this guys proved it.

“Some folks in certain areas” only have the lowest contempt for their brain, dead colleagues and that just happens to be Jim and I. It's a dirty job and all that. :D

I dont know if we know enough about them to comment, or how long ago they were.

It appears from the comments of drivers locally that they are blaming an over supply of taxis and cherrypicking due to low earnings for the dispute with the lad who died.
