I sense you are a wee bit upset wee Cranky

First of all I can write Scotch.......because it upsets you and other Scotch people.......but for your information, I didn't write Scotch in the original article, I wrote Scots, I presume the editor of the magazine thought it might get up your nose.....which incidentally seems to have happened.

Secondly, you wrote on here that you opposed the recent fare increase in Edinburgh, I think you also advised us that you wrote to ECC about it;

http://www.taxi-driver.co.uk/phpBB2/vie ... hp?t=13722

Thirdly, you write to the press on a seemingly hourly basis.....they print your letters.

Forthly, I suggest you actually read the best practice guidance and perhaps you should send a copy of it to that QC chappy you mention, in so far as I am aware ECC carry out surveys and are reasonably transparent.......they have issued licenses recently havent they?

Of course they have......aint your mates sold them?

I dont expect you to read this or understand the contents, perhaps TDO should allow you use of crayons?

Wayne, you just don't know when to stop digging. The Scottish Government Best Practice Guide points exactly to what might happen, it was no accident. It did. The rest is a history of council negligence.

“surveys, reasonably transparent” so rape is a consequence of a reasonable survey. I don't think!

Wayne, you've made a complete Turkey of yourself. Now do yourself a favour and stop. ..

One thing I cant figure out here is who's hand is up who's ar$e.

Gary, is your hand up wee Jimmys, or is wee Jimmy's hand up yours, or is it, as I suspect, a 'joint hand up the ar$e' venture by the pair of you?

You see, wee Jimmy is saying the rape in a saloon car in Edinboro (for our american viewers), was about taxis.....or the lack of them.

Now I know, as do many of the people in Edinboro, that all taxis are easily recognisable, because they are either purpose built or of the E7 variety........there are no saloons licensed as taxis.

Could (or cud, just for those who do that txt thing), you please explain how the lack of taxis made the girl believe the unlicensed, wrong type of vehicle, was a taxi?

Or could you please tell me, why wee Jimmy isn't jumping on a bandwagon, because thats what it looks like.

In respect of the fare increase, could you please tell me how drivers are better off with no fare increase due to the current price of fuel?

Aye CC, Taxi Talk and the National Taxi Association must be thrilled to bits with a contribution like this. Accepting this shows us all just how worthwhile they are

What part of what Lady Smith said did you not understand? Unable to get a taxi she got into a car posing as a PH. Just as happens all over the country where saloon cars ARE licensed as taxis.

As someone who claims to understand the trade you should already know this.

Jumping on a bandwagon? Or merely pointing to the flaws in the system which allows a shortage of taxis, putting the public at risk just to serve the vested interests of the few who benefit from the undersupply value that accrues because of the artificial shortage of taxis.

This is fundamentally immoral.

A 3% increase in fuel represents less that one half of one percent of turnover. Hardly worth the cost of changing the meters to apply it to the tariff, is it? You should also know this, if you're the taxi guru you think you are, or would have us believe you are.

Anyway, the reason I opposed the meter increase at this time is because the public is on its erse end. They are struggling in the current economic climate. We're all struggling. I'm surprised you hadn't noticed this Wayne.

To increase the tariff at this time would simply make the taxi trade look greedy, and turn the public against us.

But there were 2 local factors in the proposed increase as well.

The trade wanted to increase the tariff, not to put more cash in the drivers pockets, but to allow the two big companies to put the pick up costs at the airport onto the tariff, so that their drivers alone didn't have to meet the extra £2 cost they are being charged to pick up at the airport.

The second one is that the proposed tariff hike was being proposed at the same time as the biggest PH company was cutting its own tariff by "up to 30%".

Now, how could the trade reasonably increase fares when the competition is reducing theirs. There is a simple commercial logic here Wayne and, once again, with your claim knowledge of the trade and alleged business acumen, I'm surprised you don't understand this.

You're just showing how stupid you are by persisting with your drivel Wayne. I'm flabbergasted that you are allowed to contribute to any trade magazine because you just drag any reputation they aspire to into the gutter. I'm also surprised that you managed to find any position within a trade organisation that allows you spout such drivel when it simply drags it down into the gutter as well.

Taxi Talk and the National Taxi Association really need to take a long hard look at themselves.

Naa wee Jimmy, you're the one who drags the taxi trades name through the mud, you aspire to be recognised which you are, but as a crank.

If the taxi trade had opposed any increase I wager you'd have been the one pointing out the increased costs to the driver. Everyone in Edinburgh knows what you're like and that's why your held up as a fool.

As for the rape, you sick, sick man, you see that as an opportunity to vent you're bile.

I think your mentally disturbed.

Read the post again Wayne, and remember the best practice guide.

However, let's not waste time with your banale weak ripostes.

Let's just ask Taxi Talk's advertisers. Let them decide whether your belief that rape is reasonable is right or not.

Youre the one linking taxi demand surveys to rape not me, could you supply any evidence?

No you can't because there isn't any, if there was you'd use it.

As I said, your a very sick individual

That'll be you rattled then Wayne

I link the lack of taxis to rape Wayne, nothing else.

Surveys are a ploy used by councils to tell consultants the answer and ask them to justify it.

Once again, if surveys were conducted properly, then the council would include all the points in the annexe to the Best Practice Guide which tells councils the questions they should be asking. The report would include a blow by blow explanation of each of these points.

The reality is that councils only ask the questions that suit their policy. Nothing else.

Surveys are not worth the paper they are written on.

But you already know this Wayne, don't you. You're comfortable with such flawed surveys as long as they help you maintain restriction, and vested interest.

Best Practice predicted the sexual assaults. And they happened because C ity of Edinburgh Council (CEC, Wayne) ignored the warnings.

They should be sued for negligence.

Doesn't get any simpler than that Wayne., does it?
