Not sure too many drivers will want to come on an open forum and tell the world what they are earning.

Ask on the ranks, but be prepared for those that go low as they don't want you to join their gang, and those that go high because they think it makes them a better cabby. :?

the last driver from the Milton keynes area I spoke to ( a couple of years ago now) wasn't exactly glowing about it too many drivers and not enough work was his comment and he was emigrating to Spain !!

It think you'll find it's the same all over the UK at the moment. I wouldn't commit to anything just yet. Get this double dip out of the way before you commit to anything.

Are there many private hire "taxis" parked on ranks in Milton Keynes then Sussex?

Nobody will give a straight answer because of all the reasons stated by the lads. I will tell you this though it is so quiet in Manchester even the Liar's are not making any money.

I had one down here, who is renting a taxi, tell me he did £2,500 last week.

And yes he is a smack-head.
