Just to confirm why the opening post has been changed.

TDO has discovered that it's a Tory that thinks putting working cab drivers on the dole for parking violations is a good thing to do.

Cllr John Frederick Dymock

Cll Mays is in fact chair for Gambling Alcohol Licensing and Entertainments Committee.

I think you will find it was the council leader who got it wrong.

Dear Karen,

I am not chair of Licensing and Regitrastion. Can I suggest for any answers and in formation, you get in touch with Kevin Neale at Ashfield District Council.

Yours faithfully,

Cllr Liz Mays.

Isn't this a typical reply from someone who knows f*** all about taxi licensing.

She is saying speak to the licensing officer, yes the same licensing officer who is getting 'high as a kite' suspending drivers for parking on yellow lines.

That woman needs to say why she is supporting such a draconian measure, and if by chance she isn't, well she needs to get off her ar** and do something about it.

I shall pass on your sentiments  I did forward the letter to the Chair of the committee but as yet I have had no reply. I didn't see the point of passing it only to the licensing officer as she suggested. Perhaps I shall reply to her letter and ask why she is supporting such a move as you have suggested :D

Because you are not a voter in that area, I would not be suprised if you don't get a reply. I sent emails to some councillors who had gone to press with the wrong information about limousine laws and never got a reply.

TDO has it on good authority that the Cabinet is going to review their RIPA policy on September 16th.

Maybe I could suggest anyone concerned with the clear abuse of RIPA by the licensing department make their views known to Cabinet members.

Cllr John Russell Knight

Cllr Trevor Charles Locke

Cllr Warren Thomas Nuttall

Cllr Mrs Margaret Thorpe

Cllr John Wilmott

It's worth pointing out that they are all Labour councillors.

I thought RIPA dealt with covert evidence whereas the cameras in Ashfield are in full view of everyone?

I've had a nice letter this morning from the Council regarding RIPA. I'll scan it and drop it up here.

Oh dear, now lets see 21 days at £100 9 of witch where weekend days at £200, plus 1 bank holiday at a further £100 making a total payable to each driver £3,100, plus around £10,000 for deformation of character each

Absolute rubbish. Image

The council know they have abused their powers, they should be bold enough to seize the abuse.
