Taxi driver arrested after Foleshill garage incident

Oct 12 2010

A taxi driver has been arrested following an alleged dispute at a Foleshill garage.

Police were called to a business in Lockhurst Lane, Foleshill yesterday morning following reports that a pedestrian had been injured after being struck by a black Hackney Carriage.

The injured man is believed to be an employee at the garage.

After the emergency services were alerted, two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle were scrambled to the scene.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We arrived to find a pedestrian, in his 30s, trapped between a car and a wall.

"The man was treated for a chest injury and suspected pelvic and abdominal injuries. He was fully immobilised using a spinal board and neck collar and was provided with pain relief at the scene before being taken to hospital.”

A spokesman for Coventry Police added: “We were called at 11.11am to reports a black taxi had been in collision with a pedestrian at an address in Lockhurst Lane. The taxi driver has been arrested on suspicion of assault.”
