Facetious is the only English word that contains all the vowels once and in alphabetical order. I have been told there is another, but thinking of it would be too boring.

I think you'll find there is more than another one  abstemious, caesious, anemious, aerious, abstentious, acheilous, arsenious, arterious, tragedious, fracedinous, and Gadsprecious

With regard to "Every 4 years, monthly-paid staff have to work an extra day – for NOTHING!"

Just to be really boring - except every one hundred years, except every four hundred years - but I don't suppose they are interested in my amendment to your statement BC.

Why do you say that? Are you sugesting that on these particular years it is not a leap year? Because the year 2000, which is both a multiple of 100 and 400 and 4 was a leap year.

This thread is now getting there.

What bores me is taxi and PH drivers moaning about issues when those issues have been done and dusted all the time those moaners have been moaning.

The trade needs to be more proactive, not reactive, but alas most drivers don't know what either words mean.

Gregorian Calendar.

This bit is ONE sentence...
Leap year every four years, except every 100 years, except every 400 years.

So as the "dates" were recalculated on changing from the previous Julian Calender you get this. All dates Anno Domini.

4 leap year
8 leap year....
96 leap year
100 no leap year (except every 100 years)
104 leap year and every four years until...
396 leap year
400 leap year (except every 400 years)
404 leap year and every 4 years until...
500 no leap year
504 leap year...

Then on and on ad in finitum so the years 400, 800, 1200, 1600 and 2000 have been leap years.

The next time it occurs will be the 2400 - I think I won't be that bothered, I don't think you will be either. To be honest, I don't think 2100 will give either of us to much hassle either.

Now that was boring. =P~

dull and boring are relative terms, and subjective, those with peace of mind can be quite happy with what others call dull and boring, my walk with the dogs twice a day would, to some, seem dull and boring, but im happier doing that than attempting to stay alive on the M6 or M25, i feel sorry for those that strive for happiness when its all around them and they just cant see it
