Not content with breaking the law by using (the now defunct) M4 Bus Lane, it seems John Griffen has had another law breaking idea, the motorway hard shoulder.

I was coming back in to town on the M4 the other night, and as is typical for me, a bus had broken down on the two lane elevated section by the famous Lucozade sign.

Needless to say the M4 (minus the Bus lane) was gridlocked back to Hayes, but that didn't stop about 40 Addison Lee cars driving on the hard shoulder to avoid the traffic.

Once again Londons largest Miniscab operator show themselves up to be the bunch of retards and cowboys that they are.

Quality driving, by quality drivers.

Perhaps Bus Lanes don't exist in Africa or Bosnia?

Yup, noticed this too.

Lets face it though, most of the roads these drivers have been accustomed to in their mother lands resemble hard shoulders, easy mistake!

I wonder if Lord Griffen will be on the local news again in the front of one of his slaves cars with no seat belt driving on the hard shoulder!

Then that needs to be reported to the police.

Continually. Date, time, reg/plate no.

That was the only way we got one of our ranks cleared of non-taxis. I send monthly E mails just to remind them. Can normally amass 30/40 cars a month. Keeps them on their toes!

The Met ain't interested, traffic policing isn't a priority anymore, not with the recent cutbacks.

I'm sure if there's a traffic car present they'll do something, but they won't be going out of their way to tackle hard shoulder abuse.

Like we tried when they continually abused the M4 bus lane.

Maybe Griffen is bankrolling the Met as well as the mayor

I think the bus lane issue was/is a civil matter, driving on the hard shoulder is a criminal matter and the police must act.

When the annnouncement to scrap the M4 bus lane was made I noticed it was not the taxi trade that squarked loudest, but John Griiffen.

Why ? They don't have meters, so all their work are fixed fares. Being able to use the bus lane was a huge benefit to them. Now they are back in the pack as it were, they decide to create their own bus lane.

It also explains why all the minicab trade are always in such a tear arsed hurry. Mostly, their road craft leaves a lot to be desired.

Soon lots of other drivers will follow suit and the hard shoulder will become another running lane !
