I can personally add to that: When I was young and naive (yes, there was a time I was even more naive than now!) I was ripped off by a Thessaloniki cabbie. He haggled out a fare which was a lot higher than I´ve been told by others, because he said he "is the only one left at the station, all the others are gone", yet as soon as we drove off, a lot more were coming. Then, on the way to the airport, with me on board, he took two more jobs on the radio, made the extra rounds to do the pick-ups and drove the people to their destinations before - finally - dropping me off at the airport, there tucking his rip-off fare. That was the cheekiest [edited by admin] I´d ever met in the trade.

Yeah, we live in crazy times and people are getting sloppier by the minute, I have seen someone eating a fried chicken and chips with fork and knive on the tram and witnessed with my own eyes someone eating a pizza out of the take-away box whilst driving a bike! Moreover there´s always the story of the driver at Brighton station, who pulled up a mate´s cab, got stuck with his boot between the pedals somehow, jerked ahead and damaged three other cabs. They called him the Terminator. (That was before the accident.)
