I not sure I entirely agree with you about this. I can't think of anything I'd rather not have on the top of my vehicle and I don't think many of the others here would either. We don't need to look like taxis at night people try to flag us down anyway, they don't care

Yes I know where you are coming from, and I know the horrendous problems you have to endure trying not to look like taxis  But! and I do mean But! there are others who will try to tip the odds towards PH

Have a word with Brighton Council PLEASE, I would love to have nothing on my PH other than the plate on the back, but we have numbers on the front doors, plate numbers on the rear doors and a bl**dy roof sign with tha company phone number on!!. And as you said, because of which we get flagged down all the time even thogh I do not have my roof sign lit at any time,
And also regarding the main subject ,we had those in Brighton many years ago, when I had a Hack, and they failed miserably!I am thankfull to say.

I think external adverts look naff, full stop.

I'd sooner see no external adverts on Londons Taxi fleet, although I accept it's never going to happen because a rental fleet of 200 taxis earning a grand a year each for adverts isn't going to be sniffed at by the owner.

Yes you are right there, but if I want to stay on the circuit that I have been on for 38 yrs I have no choice! Then the LA insist that I have my plate number on the rear doors and a roof sign with the company number on, but I would like to put on an up market car without all the crap on it but can't. I would like to say that when Brighton PH were allowed roof signs I was one of the few who went to court to argue against them being allowed!!
If PH had no markings on them a lot of the "plying for hire" problems would be solved, particulaly in Brighton.
