Nope.....its based upon the averages of other major cities that deregulated.

Ok so you made it up based on what happened elsewhere.
Do these major cities have identical quality controls to Edinburgh?

Are those the same quality controls that have recently been suggested as crap?

Those numbers are based on Liverpool.....which went from 400 odd to 1400

Cardiff.....from 400 to 850 odd

And Birmingham, which i suspect Brummie has told you about in the past.

Those figures are based on what has happened elsewhere......how else is someone expected to base figures.

Are you suggesting I break the dust off my rover 75 tardis edition? (thats for you GBC)

Edinburgh is a restricted market, and everyone is struggling here too, only the drivers more than the owners. And you think putting a cap on numbers will change all this. You are dreaming mate.

Without a united trade, proper legal representation and the right of direct action to dictate your own professional worth. You will always be seen as the shi* on the publics' shoes. And you want politicians to take you seriously, I, like them, wouldn't pish on you if you were on fire.

You are pathetic.Image

Which means exactly nothing, no substance just abuse.

Why didn't you and your mate not mention Cardiff re-regulating last year?

The police supported re-regulation.....due to the serious problems the number of taxis had created.

You failed to mention the 21 drivers in Ashfield who lost their jobs for one month because their council couldn't cope with the effects of too many taxis.

Anyone might think that someone like Madjim who has by his own admission driven a cab for 23 years and didn't actually say he owned one at some point.....which may not be the case......could be kind of viewed as a bit of a f*cking disaster area.......23 years in a job without promotion???? ffs his kids must be proud.

Madjim's letter didn't mention many things........and those things were noted.

Council's go through periods of restriction and de-restriction. It's nothing new. Remember Dublin CC, 100K plate “values” and the plug got pulled. We have never claimed that de-restriction works, but then again, neither does a restriction. We advocate a third way, where the trade is united and takes control over its own affairs, instead of going cap in hand to the council. If it can't happen then so be it, we'll take our chances along with everyone else.

If a driver is qualified and paying a rental, there is no reason why he should be denied the choice to own or drive. :-|

It's easy to see that you only listen to your own view point, sorry, Jasbar's view point, because as you have stated where the trade is united and takes control over its own affairs, why won't you to dick heads listen we don't want what you two t*ssers are advocating so why don't you listen to the trade and p*ss off.

Let's look at Liverpool.

400 cabs in a city bigger than Edinburgh?

No wonder there was a big increase.

And I suspect the final 1,400 is similar to Edinburgh currently, pro rata.

By the way, how many plates currently in Liverpool, and how much are they worth.

1,000 more taxis in Edinburgh with derestriction? FFS

If the conditions are different, it's comparing apples with pears.

Using your thinking and Aberdeen as a basis, the increase would be less than 40 cabs a year for the next 4 years.

That too would be comparing apples and pears, just not the dramatic figure which suits your case.
