Dear Inspector Smith,

I am a journalist with taxitalk magazine and I would like you to assist me with any comments you may have in respect of claims made about the cab office on an internet forum (www.taxi-driver.co.uk ).

Allegations have been placed ob the website of what I would consider a serious nature

Jasbar has the Scotsman printed your story about a Edinburgh taxi driver who has united the Dundee taxi trade on calling for a cap.DTA have 5 new members because of you just as well you are not on commission   .

Do you honestly think your council is gonna want to put the genie back in the bottle?

Do you think they'll want to go back into court?

Things have moved on since Lady Cosgrove. Human Rights may be progressed through legal aid. Coupled with cash poor council budgets, no longer do councils hve the whip hand of the bottomless public purse.

It's one thing to have five new members, but are they 5 new members who understand the argument, or just happy slaves besotted with vested interest induced fear?

Anyway, they are not relevant. The proof of the pudding is in what folks actually do. Like the 127 people in Edinburgh who applied to operate their own taxi in the middle of the worst recession in 100 years.

And when folks in Dundee want to do the same, even if there is a cap, they will and the council will be back in court trying to defend a vested interest

How stupid is that?

BTW FitzPatrick responded by return in an attempt to dismiss me. Unsurprisingly, no similar responce from Alex Salmond.
