Bleeding hard mate, every job has got to count at the moment.

ring shane at swad diesels FFS

It's been into G Diesel in Hucknall mate, Darryl has told me it needs a new diesel pump. turbo and some new injectors. I've asked him if it's worth doing? He said straight away "no".

well having had the carlton 2.0 drinker and nowadays my passrat 1.9 oilburner I must say I am more than happy to say deisel is still a good buy.

It gives me 41-43mpg normally and hits 60+ on a run. as for pulling under 1000rpm - she's no sloven even with 4 fat-bastards onboard she pulls like a Saturn V!

I admit petrols are coming along now (the VW Twincharger units are stunning - my 1.4golf had 171Bhp, shot through all revs smoothly and still did 40mpg with my girl-racer driving).

I'd love to have a go at the passat 1.8TSi 160 and see how she compares to my smoker (that actually doesnt smoke much at all)....

horses for courses I guess......

the other point is that diesel at the pumps seems to vary in quality (when it shouldnt) from decent Shell/BP stuff to Asda/Tesco crap 2p/ltr cheaper

how long will these fragile Hdi/common rail pumps last on the crap?

TBH id forgotten there WAS a model called the Croma, it didnt sell well being in the same market as many "MPVs" with better known badges (Ford/Citroen, etc) but i know one taxi firm who bought THIRTY (must have been a good deal)

1.9tdi, alloys, 4xEW, AC, cruise, etc
