Taxi drivers in council protest

Image
Taxi drivers protest outside Preston Town Hall

Around 50 taxi drivers have taken part in a protest outside Preston Town Hall.

The Hackney Drivers Association Ltd members held the protest on Tuesday because they claim they are being treated unfairly by council licensing bosses.

Craig Sharp, Preston Council’s assistant director said: “The council has been made aware of the concerns of the Hackney
Drivers Association Ltd and have provided a full response to those concerns.

“As the matter being protested about is currently the subject of a regulatory
investigation it is not appropriate for the Council to comment upon it.”

Philip Walsh, whose name appears on the protestors’ placards, declined to comment about the protest.

Don't 'extract the urine'.

This is a democratic country and in a democracy you're allowed to protest.

As long as you go away quietly afterwards and the council can turn a blind eye and deaf ear !
