Is it just me having a bad day or was the standard of driving and general agressiveness of other drivers worse than normal today. It seemed to start with my first job and carry on all day

1) cars insisting on attempting to overtake parked cars despite the fact that I was already coming the other way
2) cars coming up fast to overtake you on the A1 then slowing to your speed to block you in
3) Getting stuck at the exit from the Hospital for 5 minutes with about 400 cars going past before someone finally lets you out
4) Cars insisting on blocking all traffic whilst they wait for a parking space to become available
5) cars ignoring right of way rules on mini roundabouts

Did anybody else havwe a really bad day like this or was it just round our way and the traffic at schhol pick up time was at pre christmas rush levels !!!

it unusually busy in Linlithgow today where my school contract is there was no parking spaces in the school so parked at the front (usually do anyways as my car won't go in the bays) and then one of the janitors kicks off about parking at the door just ignored him as he knows i park there most of the time anyways, and then the wee boy kicks off and starts taking a tantrum and takes ages to get to the car and i go in and just tell the teachers to grab him and get him into the car so my escort and a teacher has to carry him out to the car, he then takes his hearing aid of what my escort has to put on, but he settles down when we start moving and then goes to sleep with all his carry on, then later on tonight i got a puncture so currently on the spare wheel and going to the garage tomorrow to get it fixed so wasn't a very good day for me either.

I generally approach each day with the attitude that all people are basically c*nts - doing this the day can only improve - or stay the same

The general standard of driving, IMO, is getting worse and worse.

Down here the standard of taxi/PH driving is also getting worse and worse.

And courtesy between drivers is becoming a thing of the past.

Had a nice day at the office dear? 8)

Sounds typical for round here too, except another Friday evening with only 2 jobs, but then another 3 pubs have closed down in this area in the last week. In the last year we've already lost 8 pubs, 3 with decent food. Absolutely no-one goes out round here anymore.

6) Everyone using mobile phones
7) Cars from your right doing 70mph onto islands then getting worked up cos you hadnt seen them coming
9) Village school having events and 200 cars turn up for 20 parking spaces (road to Basra lookalike)
10) People who think having a pothole their side of the road allows them to drive on my side of the road
11) Cyclists (MAMIL's) en-masse 30 strong taking up all the road and doing 20mph on country lanes
12) Horse riders (they all own fecking farms but ride on the road)
13) Tractor drivers who can do 40mph but slow to 20mph cos they know you cant get past them
14) Hospital car park charges (£4 yesterday and again today)
15) If I do something wrong a cop sees me, everyone else gets away with it

I find drivers no longer want to give right of way when they should. Usually it's when you're driving along a road with no obstructions on your side but the car coming the other way thinks it's ok to swerve round the parked car on their side of the road, cross the central white line and head straight towards you forcing you to brake hard.

Or the one that drives onto your side of the road to get past a line of parked cars despite you already being halfway along, and then expects YOU to reverse back !

But the one that really gets me is when you're trying to turn right out of a side road and the traffic on the main road is slowing to a halt for traffic lights and someone stops right across your nose. :x

I had an OAP-encounter the other day, i pulled out of a T junction (left) and noticed a car about 100yds approaching behind me, this was in a 30mph zone, i was up to 30mph in about 2 seconds, and hadnt impeded the other car in any way, the driver proceeded to flash his headlamps 10 times and pound his horn (he was about 50yds behind me), we both went the same way along a country road, he sounded his horn at any car oncoming he judged not to be right over (despite them having already come past me with no discomfort) and he was holding up traffic behind him too, this was Victor Meldrew gone crackers, I had to slow down to 20mph just to watch him behind me (he was even slower), and he then pulled into his bungalow down the road from me................OAP-chav-ASBO driver!

Hasn't Stamford had a recent change in water supplier?

Another one. You're following a car at 29mph and as they reach a speed camera they slow down to 25mph or less. They must already know they're within the speed limit so are they scared they might get a ticket for doing 29 ?

its just the worry of getting a ticket, i do it as sometimes your speedo can be a bit out so i always slow down before a camera

Horses with no riders who walk at the side of them with a rope holding all the traffic up.

no, they probably have a speedo reading over by 10%, they think they are doing 30mph but are really only doing 27....

i use a section of the A5 with 5 cameras in a 40mph zone and when my satnav is on you can tell who has the most accurate speed

Had a right one this morning on a narrow country lane car coming towards me about halfway between is a passing place. Other car reaches passing place about 3 secs before me where does he stop IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD I still had to over the grass verge  even if he had pulled to the edge of the carriageway there would have been room but no he has to stop his car in a position which made the passing place unusable as such
