Unless you are required to buy a wav............don't! Firstly, you will be unlikely to pick up much extra work than you already have. Secondly, any work that you do pick up will take far longer to carry out and legally you can't charge for loading and unloading because that would be discriminating against the disabled.

Wise words.^^^

Listen to the guys who run these things, not the saloon fraternity who will cheerfully spend your dough and let you go broke.
I'd also add don't shell out extra for a 6/7/8 seater unless there are only a few round your way.
It only works for a limited few and when too many bright sparks have the same idea it just won't pay.

Danger danger danger, how do you get your wheelchair passenger out if you get shunted from the rear and the doors won't open?? I've seen it happen down here yet the Council still allow them.

They are a poor mans WAV and shouldn't be allowed on the road as a Hackney Carriage.

Spend that little bit extra and buy a side loader, that way there's always 2 means of egress.

Same for side loaders , Rural roads... Hard Shoulders are not design to take a break down WAV, Then you get A lorry swipes the vehicle with the wheel chair bound Passenger Still inside , nice bit of mess to clear up

Why is it the same for side loaders??? You can unload from both sides in safety and not the back end like the cheap version Doblos with one means of egress.

I've had two WAVS in the past you fool, both "SIDE LOADERS" with proper restraints. Rear Loading WAVS are a poor mans choice.

And why aren't you driving one now?
Thats right, the saloon is cheaper to run isn't it?

Practice what you preach, Nidge or STFU

You cannot unload a wheel chair person if you break down in a counrty lane (rural ) or on a hard shoulder ,
What unload wheel chair person into a live lane. That's is what you are saying

No good asking a company for a WAV to pick up your passengers, if you cannot get them out

I don't give a flying feck why you sold up. You bailed out and took the cheap option. Now you pontificate at every opportunity about what kind of WAV should be allowed and what shouldn't, all from the cheap option of your saloon. You are full of [edited by admin].

Cheap personal swipes at Nidge do your argument no favours. I do not think you need to own a WAV, or even a Taxi to have useful opinion on this issue...end of the day we are governed by twits that haven't a clue one end of a taxi from t'other!

You may not have a problem with hypocrisy but I do.

Your mate's hypocrisy does his argument no favours. I drive a rear loading WAV and have done so for many years. It's a VW Sharan and they don't have a track record of spontanious self combustion like some side loaders I could mention.

This trade is full of guys like nidge who think they should decide whats good for everyone else when it's not good for them.

I think not Gobby, I don't profess about what is safe and what is not. Both have their drawbacks. I should know, having driven both kinds.

I take it you're another know all saloon jockey like nidge who really just wants the competition shelling out more than him to do the same job?
