Middlesbrough Council licensed taxi spotted parked in disabled spot

Taxi was seen parked outside Farmfoods in Ormesby without a blue badge

A Middlesbrough Council licenced taxi has been pictured parked in a disabled parking spot in Middlesbrough.

The taxi was spotted outside Farmfoods in Ormesby without a blue badge, parked in one of the two disabled parking places in the car park.

Pictures of the driver were posted onto Facebook, with the post revealing that an argument broke out when the driver was told off for parking in a disabled spot.

"We have received a formal complaint from a member of the public regarding a Middlesbrough hackney carriage licence," Said a spokesman for Middlesbrough Council.

“We will be speaking to the driver in due course to ask their assistance in establishing the facts of the incident and will then make a decision on the appropriate."

The Council currently has a Parking Penalty Charge of £70 for any drivers who parks in a disabled spot without a Blue Badge.

How many of you are also complaining about the Government cuts to the disabled budget by making people prove that they are disabled?

Prove they aren't disabled.

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is usually paid every 4 weeks. It’s tax free and you can get it whether you’re in or out of work.

It’s made up of 2 components (parts). Whether you get one or both of these depends on how your condition affects you.

Daily living component
Daily living component Weekly rate
Standard £55.10
Enhanced £82.30
Mobility component
Mobility component Weekly rate
Standard £21.80
Enhanced £57.45
You’ll need an assessment to work out the level of help you’ll get. Your rate will be regularly reassessed to make sure you’re getting the right support.

Prove they aren't disabled.

Not sure I know what you mean. Are you saying that they are being asked to prove that they aren't disabled or that the government should prove that they aren't disabled or that I should prove that they aren't disabled? :?

I've mentioned it on here before, but i still can't stop laughing about a regular punter we pick up.

Went to pick her up and she came out using crutches, first time I had ever seen her use them.

She gets in and then asked to be taken to the disablity test doctor.
