stourbridge again

A young girl has managed to break free from her abductors after being forced into a car by four white men. please note nidge, wanna !!

The girl was on her way home from Pedmore Technology College, Stourbridge, when she was approached by a man with a foreign accent.

He forced her into the back of a black taxi in Teasdale Way, Wollescote, where the other men were sitting.

They drove her between three and four miles in a 90-minute ordeal before she was able to escape. She was found in a distressed state by a member of the public who contacted police.
An alert was sent out to all schools in the area.
It said: ‘We have been made aware today of a serious incident involving the abduction of a year seven girl at a local Dudley secondary school.

‘The girl is safe and well but extremely distressed. The abduction involved a white male with a foreign accent who pushed a girl into a black taxi with two other white men.
‘The taxi was then driven to Clent where the girl managed to escape from the men.
‘Please can you be extra vigilant in the coming days and ensure your child is not commuting alone to and from school.’

The incident happened yesterday afternoon at around 3.30pm, but the alert was only put out by local authorities today.

Inspector Colin Mattinson, from Force CID, said: ‘The young girl is assisting us with this investigation and, although upset, she has not been physically hurt.
‘We have had no reports of anything similar in the area and this would appear to be an isolated incident.

‘I understand the concern and fear that such incidents raise in the community and I would urge anyone with information to contact us on 101.’

Something doesn't add up "was driven 3 or 4 miles in a 90 minute ordeal"

Wouldn't be the first time a kid's made up a story because they thought they were going to get in trouble for being late home.

She wasn't 7 years old, she was in year 7. She was 11/12 years old.

Not totally clear journalism, nevertheless a misread on my part. In any event it still seems a bit odd.

Schoolgirl made up Stourbridge taxi gang abduction claim, say police

http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/schoolgirl-made-up-stourbridge-taxi-13068316

Police say an allegation made by a 12-year-old girl that she was abducted and bundled into a taxi outside a school was false.

Officers launched an investigation after the youngster said she was in Teasdale Way, Wollescote, Pedmore, at 3.15pm on Thursday, when she was forced into the black cab by four white men.

An extensive investigation was launched and detectives spent hours trawling extensive CCTV in a bid to identify the vehicle and offenders.

But police found no evidence to support her claims and have announced that the allegation was made up.

Detective Sergeant Matt Slattery said: “Incidents of child abduction are thankfully rare, but any reports of such are rigorously investigated… and any bogus accounts will be quickly uncovered.

“Detectives responded in the way people would expect when faced with a report of a child being abducted.

“However, as the enquiry progressed, it quickly became clear the incident had not happened in the way it was described to us.

“I know that this allegation caused fear among local residents and although the investigation continues and the girl is being supported, I want to stress that the public were never in any danger.”

The girl had claimed to have been driven around for approximately 90 minutes before the car stopped and was able to get out and run away. A member of the public found her and called police.

Schools in the had received letters warning them of the alleged abduction.

Tony Oakman, strategic director for people directorate, at Dudley Borough Council, said last week: “We have been made aware of an alleged incident involving a pupil from one of our schools while she walked home from school.

“The matter is now being investigated by police and we are in contact with the school. I would urge anyone with any information to contact police.”

And just imagine if a cab just happened to be in the vicinity at the time, and was recorded by CCTV.

And if he had been Asian.
