Does your council make you do a crb form annually or only every three years?

If you could reply with any names of councils doing 3 years I would appreciate it.

I don't know of any council in Sussex that CRB checks every year. As far as I know they all do three yearly checks.

Why not get one of your hoppo's to e-mail all the councils http://www.tagish.co.uk/links/localgov.htm asking how often they do?

I would be amazed if more than a dozen check annually.

It's also worth mentioning what the DfT proposed in their draft guidance.

It would seem best practice for Criminal Records Bureau disclosures to be sought when a licence is first applied for and then every three years, even if a licence is renewed annually. This would be on the basis that the drivers would be obliged to report all new convictions to the licensing authority.

Disclosure Scotland is what the council refer to it as up here - no spent convictions - ALL convictions must be listed on the grant/renewal form (or you will be called upon by the law - and the will charge you - as happened to me years ago after failing to put down a speeding offence - genuine forgotten too!!)

Glasgow City Council do the checks for every renewal or grant.

So can be either 1 year, 2 years or 3 years.

Chelmsford Borough Council ask for one at initial application, then at every other renewal. First renewal will be the CRB, second renewal another medical, and so on. In theory it means that a CRB check could take place every four years.

Like everything else ......no consistency
