Well it would be good if Skoda did do VW Shuttle version for a WAV I reckon they would do really good business. As long as there are plenty of spare gearboxes!

why do skoda have such [edited by admin] gearboxes?

my octavia which is a taxi nige just pointing out he does not know the difference between taxi and private hire, costs me a small fortune.

todate my best performing vehicle is of all things a rover.

Skoda admitted there was a fault on the Octavia gearboxes, they have recitified the problem on the Superbs, they are running as sweet as a nut. I don't know the difference betwee na PH and a HC? I should do I've been doing the job for long enough.

Well I don't know much about these Eurotaxis but drivers either seem to love them or hate them, but I suppose the LTIs are much the same.

But I can't understand the second hand prices Cab Direct are asking, even assuming there'll be a discount.

For example, in last month's PHM:

Y-reg 108,000 £15k
X-reg 145,000 £13.5k

I doubt if Nidge will be buying many at these prices!

I suppose that if they have a good re-sale value, then that should help the lads when they trade in there old ones.

Also I suspect that there aren't that many old ones out there. So when they do come up for sale, they are snapped up quite quickly.

I see your point, but I think the prices perhaps reflect a longevity which is as yet unproven - the guys trading in might get a good deal, but if those who in turn pay top dollar for vehicles with an unproven history then the former are obviously getting a good deal at the expense of the latter.

But I doubt if the quoted prices equate to the actual selling prices, so things might not be as bad as they look.

Dusty old son the prices reflect what is owed on someones loan when a vehicle is written off.

insurance its worth £8,000 but if you can demonstrate that some have been advertised for £13.500 then we will look at it.

taxi driver to cab direct
" hello Ive written off a vehicle and the insurance want proof of the value.

cab direct by coincidence there will be an ad in this week.

try dusty to buy one, they will have been snapped up indeed, but you can have a brand new one on favourable repayment terms.

now dont write it off
