I currently own a VW Sharan and a Peugeot Eurotaxi.

Now i am thinking about selling them both and getting a 9 seater minibus so that i can carry 8 passengers with luggage.

Due to the fact that i have been stung by the taxman thanks in part to having a bad accountant i am going to get a nearly new vehicle as i would prefer to pay money on a new vehicle than pay dead money to the taxman.

I am a bit unsure what vehicle is a good one although i do like VW as the Sharan i have has been a great vehicle, very reliable and very comfortable to drive.

Can anybody recommend a good minibus vehicle? I dont want to get a Ford transit as i want something that is more comfortable for myself and my passengers.

Also, i love the security screen and door locking mechanism on my Eurotaxi. Now i am thinking about buying a hackney 9 seater if my council plates any i will find out in the next few days or a normal 9 seater minibus and if possible get door locking mechanisms and security screen fitted. Can the doors be fitted with a door locking mechanism so that they stay locked when you have your foot on the break and if so where can they be done, i know you can get security screens fitted but not sure where and what price?

Any views, comments and recommendations would be great as well as good companies to use, i live in Wrexham so cannot travel too far.

VW Transporter minivan, but go for the 2.5 as apposed to the 1.9.

You will find it difficult to get a vehicle with the exact spec unless you buy new .................... but you will have a local VW dealer who will be very helpful if they are anything like the lads up here.

I think for an eight-seater taxi the VW is the best bet.

Not sure they have locking door thing, even as an option. But you can get the screen, and both the Jubilee and the Bernard Mansell versions look quite good.

Even if a tad dear.

You can get a screen ............. but if you want to demand spec you'll need to buy new or get one fitted .

Both the above vehicles or the Ford Torneau - you can get WAV, side steps, bulkhead and security screen options and change out of £20k!

If you want an exact spec but don't want brand new - ask a dealer if they would consider running the vehicle as a demo; you agree before they register it to purchase it on an agreed date with no more than X miles etc They claim the VAT back and get paid by the manufacturer for running it as a demo and you can save the VAT plus about 3k if you negotiate the right deal and get the exact model that you want.
