My enhanced crb was delayed and came back about 3 months after my hc license expired.

My then la authority refused to reissue me with my badge. You can carry on driving as you have 28 days to decide on wether to appeal to the magistrates court and you can carry on dirving without a badge. You then apply to the magistrates court for an appeals hearing with cost me about £12.00 application fees and it took over 3 months to get a hearing date set by which time my crb had come through and my license was issued.

Cann't say anymore on the case though.

Maybe, but that doesn't stop me calling your council a bunch of pricks.

ummm seems that those power crazed pratts in local authorities will sohrtly have the power to stop you from working while the appeal goes on.

So who's going to pay the bills and feed my children while I'm left with no earnings.

I for one will totally ignore any order by local authority hitlers and carry on driving if they try and take my licence off me again for no reason.

Can't see the problem CRB checks are done and posted within 24 hours if done on line!

We have to have them done every year at renewal and licences are always renerewed pending outcome for anyone that has has to deal with snail mail; oh sorry I mean normal post :D

At this rate I'll have to do a Minicab application form, buy a beat up old mondeo and take to the streets 7 days a week, and call out with my favorite chant. :D

There is one driver I know who has been waiting 10 weeks for his to return, and Sefton Hackney Office is only three miles away from the CRB Office.

What the PCO does for PH Drivers in London, if the CRB does not come through in time is issue a tempory permit to cover the driver until it does.

May be other area's in country should do the same??

My m8 has told me PCO have stopped issueing temp permit to new applicants from Jan 2007 untill CRB is not cleared by police. This could take 6months eusasmiles.zip

In all fairness what they are doing is what happens elsewhere. This trade can't have folks driving that don't have proper checks.

I've had two CRB's in the last year and neither of them took more than three months.
