No it doesn't ................. a fare is a fare and you are supposed to see the customer as the most important ............. or would the quality of service you offer differ depending on distance.

Is this the gospel handed down by the GMB?

Always think of the customer before your own pocket? lol. I can just see you pulling off a rank and travelling six miles for a two pound job because of the importance of a customer. How long will it take you travel six miles and how long will it take you to travel six miles back again and how much fuel will you use in the meantime?

Your comments should be binned as irresponsible.

Nonsence ................. if your PH you sit in the areas you know there is work ........... if your a HC you sit where there are ranks (in order to get two bites of the cherry).

lol So once you've travelled six miles from a Taxi rank for a two pound job you then travel six miles back and await another job? lol thats 12 miles for a two pound job, which has probably taken you best part of an hour to complete? Thats good common sense.

Or are you suggesting that the HC should sit in the area where there is work

That wouldn't be a bad idea? lol I suppose that might be more desirable than sitting in an area where there is no work?

and where did you get the phrase "dual use".

Dual use is a common technological phrase, which relates to any item that serves a dual purpose. It most certainly does not relate to specifically undertaking both uses simultaneously. Dustys reference to both Hackney and private hire being the dual usage, was clear and precise to any sane person reading his comments.

JD, I have more miles under my belt driving a taxi then you will ever have.

lol I am not surprised considering you are prepared to travel six miles per two pound job.
