On my recent hols to Cornwall I went to Plymouth to visit my old man, and my step mum brought out the usual photos, then she brought out my grandfather's taxi badges, one was for Plymouth and the other London.
Now the question is would I have any of the grandfathers rights to obtain a licence in my own right in either of these places or has to much time elapsed
The London badge was a green one, the Plymouth was a type orange both made out of metal with a leather backing with the drivers numbers.
She said that the Plymouth badge dated from 1950, and the London one from 1930. he worked in London before the war and served his duty then when he came back he moved to Plymouth, and started his own company

All Englishmen in Scotland have the right to hunt haggis during the open season (Hogmanay to Burns nicht) and the right to one Nessie sighting per annum

I doubt if you ever had any rights with regard to these, and you are in no better position than anyone else.

By the way, did you hear about the taxi driver who thought "grandfather rights" were something to do with his dad's dad?
