HEADLINE: Taxi driver accused of trying to rape girl (16)

A 36-year-old Nelson part-time taxi driver has appeared before Pennine magistrates charged with the attempted rape of a 16-year-old Barnoldswick girl.

Saghir Ahmed, of Rhoda Street, Nelson, is charged with attempted rape and assault by penetration. Ahmed, who also works at a mill in Read, was remanded in custody and is now due to appear before Burnley Crown Court on June 25th. The allegations follow an incident in a private hire vehicle in a quiet area near Thornton-in-Craven and Barnoldswick in the early hours of Sunday, March 18th.

Your lot hire barristers to find out how to break the law. That puts you in no position to judge anyone. This guy will most likely lose his cab licence. Nothing to stop him getting a limo though, is there?

If he is guilty, one thing is for certain, we don't want him in our trade.

Thats a fact. Kermit may not want him in the limo trade either, but there's no way to prevent him if he decided to.......

Fair point unless he was to go through council licensing that is, as some councils will license nowadays :D
