I think that's the root of the problem Mr Casualty - you make a taxi driver applying for a licence to run his own vehicle sound like a criminal offence. :?

Unlike Jim Taylor and his criminal thug friend - everything I stated was accurate - unless you can prove otherwise

Notice no condemnation of Taylor and Thompson's "collateral damage" excuse they've applied to innocent people in the past

Well thanks for ignoring the substantive point - my post wasn't about facts, it was about tone and characterisation.

If it is true would you condemn it? :?

Whilst not condoning the alleged actions of the City Cabs committee, even if they are true, I'm sure Taylor would just classify Mr McDonald as "collateral damage". After all it was he and his criminal thug boyfriend who incited and encouraged Mr McDonald to apply

Tell me TC. When you read in the bath, does your Beano get wet?

TDO. from where I sit, it is hardly surprising that the driver lost his radio, after all you have Mork and Mindy wanting to destroy the Edinburgh cab trade, wanting people to lose the value of the plates, and even gleefully hoping that drivers will go bankrupt through not being able to pay off their loans.

If the driver in question had thought before joining forces what the consequences might be, then he would probably have been prepared for the worst, or even left before he was pushed.
You might give thought to what your response would be .

they seem to be having a fit over on fasties especially cablag :D
lets face it. it isnae about the motor i put on (which by the way passed the standard and has since had loads more unnecesary work done to it as im a bit of a perfectionist)its about the price i paid for it and the plate.
lets see
taxi £800
test work £309
plate £700
total £1809.
jeez some people pay that much for thier test work on a new motor
oh and btw boys half the fleet in edinburgh is made up of cabs manufactured on or around 1999-2001 including comcab 320 the one that gladrags drives, what a complete contradicictory plick you are alan.
oh and btw 2 ,and you will like this! the councils gonna by me a new taxi real soon from the expenses they are due me for taking me to court that will be going on the second cab  application in

Perhaps the best track Black Sabbath ever laid down, TC.

Yeah, it's about keeping costs down while providing a quality service.

That's competition for you. It breeds enterprise. That's why Ali can think of another plate. because he knows economies of scale will reduce his costs even further.

And remember, Ali could have taken the easy route and cashed in for 50 grand. Now that's real commitment.

=D>

So you're saying you judge the driver on the basis of other people?

Keep digging!

Well what happened hardly surprises me, and no doubt the driver considered the possible repercussions as well.

But that doesn't mean that it doesn't stink.

Well I don't hire drivers, so the situation is purely hypothetical.

But if I did I don't think I'd be hypocritical enough to take the huff when my driver chose to do what I did. :)

You always did have a very naive side to you ................... do you place your door keys outside your house with a sign saying please help-yourself..... I won't take offence...

So what are you going to do with this second cab - rent it out, sell it or do what Taylor did when faced with this question - start the abuse to avoid answering it  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P

Sweetie, you know nothing.

I've no doubt that City Cabs are doing their utmost to come up with a suitable scenario as you suggest.

But two things are important here.

First, they chose the wrong guy. Gordon is just about the most conscientious cabby I've ever known. There is no operational reason for suspending him. Anyway, even if he did merit any suspension, then a reasonable organisation would have contacted him first. And the owner.

There can be no doubt that all City Cabs' committee has proved is that they are scumbags. A point I intend to trawl round their customer base. I wonder how many of their contract customers can afford to be associated with a company whose employment and member dealings are drawn straight from the 19th century mill owners' guide to exploiting workers.

Second, in this respect, these fools will rue the day they engaged combat and made an enemy of Taylor and the Skull, when of course they didn't have to. We have nothing to lose. They do.

BTW That's why you and all the other thickos on the sewing bee protect your identities. Because you know we have a long memory and you could never afford to be exposed. But remember, for the likes of you, it never ends.

Meanwhile sweetie, I suggest you sit back and enjoy the endgame. Because, from dispatches to me, I am certain the endgame is upon us.

:) :)
