Sounds like LTI have produced a real pig here.
If the faults are as common as it seems they may not have the resources to put them all right. Even if they have, it's going to cost them an arm and two legs. Maybe if they put as much effort into making a decent cab as they do protecting their monopolies, this could have been avoided.
Possibly LTI management are well aware of the situation and are stonewalling. I would also wonder how motivated their english workforce is considering they all look to be out of a job soon. It would certainly explain the unco-operative attitude from LTI.

I would advise anyone thinking of buying a new TX4 to think again.
If your LA insist on LTI vehicles and your old vehicle still works, keep it for a while longer!
Otherwise consider a second hand alternative or another make if allowed.

Looks like the sheit is about to hit the fan.

Bex. mine has a grinding/vibrating sound at about 20 mph. Took it to M&O they said it was pipes rubbing together and they would put padding on them. Sounded like old waffle to me. A mate told me it's a common fault and they can't correct it, and some people have had their cab in up to 10 times for it. Do you know anything about this?

Mine and some others has a vibration/drone on acceleration which becomes so loud I cannot talk to passengers at 60mph.
This was one of the faults they were supposed to have looked at when they took it BACK TO THE FACTORY FOR FOUR WEEKS . They did not solve it ( Surprised ! ) ,KPM gave me "explanations" before this : Packing between chassis and body missing or not aligned allowing body resonance to transmit, EGR Valve faulty not mounted correctly. I really don`t think they have a clue !

I did find the air con pipes vibrating together causing more noise transmission. If you undo two carpet screws on transmission tunnel in luggage compartment, the 2 air con pipes could be seen to be touching. On mine the insulating grommets were not fitted ,so metal to metal contact was transmitting noise from the engine into the cockpit.Try when your on a quite road leaning over and pushing on the tunnel carpet at the front (Passenger side ) ,on mine I was able to feel the pipes vibrating.

On a slightly different issue, and bringing in another thread, is the tax for the TX4 really £300 a year?

And there was me thinking the lower the pollution the cheaper the car tax. :?

They have been doing it for years, nice to look at, but that is all.

The London boys have only got themselves to blame, get together and this could be sorted overnight.

LTI / Manganese and M & O don`t seem to have general e mail addresses, you have to fill in their on line e mail enquiry, probably to prevent bulk e mail,eg complaints !

I have sent copies of everything by recorded delivery to every one at manganese and LTI,and I send an "up date" to Mark Fryer group finance Director on a regular basis. He never responds !

I see kpm have floated on the stock exchange under the name of

http://www.ecocityvehicles.com/

Pity they did`nt learn how to repair cabs and provide a decent customer service before they looked for a new market to "service"

The auto box fitted to the TX4 appears to also be fitted to the Grand Cherokee (545RFE) many complaints on American Web sites regarding Chrysler and their transmission units.

Another clown from the GMB Minicab branch wrote:

BEXLEY. WHILST I SYMPATHISE WITH YOU do you remember that the ltda and other august bodies voted against using other types of taxi vehicles on the basis that the turning circle had to be retained.

Now that's interesting.

I, and the other 25'000 Licensed London taxi Drivers were under the impression that the LTDA ran a tireless campaign to introduce the E7, and in fact TFL turned the alternatives down on the basis of the C.O.F?

Thank god for the truth, courtesy of a Minicab driver . . :^o

That's why they will always represent the wanabee side of the London trade. :D
