Yes.I thought you must be a member as you have posted the NTTG minutes of the meeting of minds.. which I found rather odd.... as I understand it the minutes still have to go before their Committee to be confirmed as correct and have as far as I know not been issued to their members as yet........ I was wandering how they came into your possession......?

If the minutes are ammended then I'm sure Mr BB will also post any amendments, however considering these meetings are informal and have no legal standing then it doesn't make any difference whether the account is accurate or not. There is no doubt that the GMB will be asked not to make public any further minutes but it would appear the GMB and NALEO are the only organisations out of this meeting of minds gathering that want these discussions out in the open? John Thompson certainly wants them out in the open and debated by the wider Taxi trade and so does the GMB. We look forward to the next episode of the meeting of minds soap opera and I'm quite sure that the GMB are quite capable of taking down their own minutes and observations of events, so Mr Barry Carters job as minutes clerk might be made redundent at the next meeting of minds gathering, in favour of the GMB.

That would be interesting but I'm sure Barry won't mind.

On the minutes issue, perhaps you should have taken the GMB initiative and asked for a copy but I don't suppose you would have expressed the same open sentiment as the GMB?

Don't you think the GMB should be applauded for including the whole of the hackney carriage and private hire trades in these momentus deliberations to change legislation for the worse?

You still haven't told me, or the nation why these proposals that NALEO came up with are needed? I suspect you don't know and neither do any of the other simple minds.

Regards

JD

The GMB PDB National representatives committee were given a copy of the meeting of minds minutes, as the GMB PDB believe in transparancy and domocracy, we feel obliged to list these minutes here and on our taxi forum.

BB

BB.. can you point me in the direction of were you have posted your minutes of your meetings for the last year......? GMB that is..
JD... as usual you see reds under the beds! and try to make something out of nothing, it is obvious by the simple fact that when the GMB asked for copies of the minutes and were given them freely that nobody is acting secretly, it's all in your mind, I am sure that the people you're telephoning are explaining quite clearly to you what is happening, I am sure that you do not understand or choose not to understand . I have no desire to be a member of the paparazzi.... I leave that to you.... and your vivid imagination....

I suppose those that requested a copy of these mintues were quite entitled to have them, considering they took part in the exercise, however we shall see how transparent this group is, if and when they do as the GMB have done and make these minutes available to all, via their individual websites.

Can't wait but I won't hold my breath.

There is a fundamental difference in making minutes of a bone fide registered organisation public, to that of an adhoc gathering of individuals whos only objective is to stuff the taxi trade by the back door. When are you lot going to propose some postive amendments to legislation that will benefit the Taxi trade as a whole, instead of NALEO leading you by the nose in their quest to further restrict the way taxi drivers work.

At this meeting i wonder if Lewes drivers participated.
Or is there no chance they will join a union that has spent the last fewe years slagging us off.
