At the National Organising Committee meeting of the GMB Professional Drivers Branch on Tuesday 22nd January 2008 held at Edgware, National Headquarters, the following officers were elected.

GMB PDB National Organiser: Terry Flanagan Contact 07958 275339

GMB PDB National Provincial Taxi & Private Hire Secretary: Mick Hildreth Contact 07814 032002

GMB PDB National Provincial Taxi & Private Hire Assistant Secretary: Mike Doyle Contact 07976 359742

GMB PDB Assistant London Private Hire Representative: Don Glave Contact 07956 884076

It was also decided to reiterate the GMB PDB National Organising committee's position regarding the meetings which were held, named the Meeting of Minds.

We wish to make it absolutely clear there were no GMB PDB National Officers at these meetings. A member of the GMB did attend but purely as a local area representative.

The GMB PDB National Organising Committee has yet to receive any invites to any scheduled meetings, and has not authorised any GMB PDB member to represent the GMB PDB in any way at any subsequent meetings. All issues relating to the National Taxi & Private Hire Industry are now required to proceed through this Committee.

I would say it's a good step forward having trade reps from the provincial taxi/PH trade who actually work in the provincial taxi/PH trade. =D>

And isn't it better for us all if MPs, ministers, councillors etc, outside of London, are lobbied and advised by people who know what they are talking about? =D>

When I ever decide to work in London then Mr F would be the man, but as that's never going to happen, then that's never going to happen.

The GMB PDB is now more than just a London based outfit. \:D/
