Taxi Driver Online

Here's a good one. An EO from a neighbouring authority went into my mate's base and started asking questions about a booking and one of his drivers that may have committed some sort of offence in the EOs area. My mate told him to eff off and that he had no rights to ask questions or demand stuuf outside of his own district. The EO took the hump and threatened him with an obstruction offence?? Was my mate correct?

Not sure I would have told him to f*** off, but the LO has no right to question a driver not licensed by him out of his area.

He should have referred the complaint to the local area licensing team. Or they should have both attended your mates base.

At the end of the day the problem is only going to end up back on your friends doorstep so whatever information the licensing officer wanted, he will no doubt get. Unless of course your friend chooses not to disclose the information in which case he could leave himself open to prosecution.
