Bid to cap taxi numbers fails


SWANSEA Council will not be restricting the number of taxis on the city's streets.

Councillors have voted against a potential cap on the number of Hackney carriages in Swansea

Taxi drivers have been calling for the number of taxis in the city to be capped.

In December, cabbies brought Swansea to a standstill when around 90 taxi drivers formed a convoy of cabs touring the streets, adding to congestion in the already busy city centre.

wonder if that appeal by honey in the legal section had anything to do with this?
