I wonder if the person who wrote this article actually believed that his thoughts were achievable. I also wonder why the hierarchy of this organisation sanctioned it.
It may be of interest to some to know that the Manchester TODA has recently aligned itself with several outside organisations, this SCATA just happens to be one of them. I can assure you however that the views expressed in the mentioned article are not necessarily the views expressed by the TODA
It may be desirable for certain H/C owners to believe that restricting the opposition will create a greater imbalance in our favour than the one that already exists. However, we all know that most of what was written in this article was juvenile and showed a complete lack of understanding of the Law.
The author of the article and the organisation he represents must be fully aware that there is no provision in UK or EU Law that can restrict private individuals from offering a private service to the public. The inference that you can restrict growth in a private industry is totally absurd.
The person concerned should be classified as unworthy of his post and given 50 lashes by the Captain of this ship and any crew member who likewise feels aggrieved.
