England fans grumbling about only getting 4 points from 2 games.

Meanwhile, Scottish fans ecstatic with one point from two games.

Funny game, football.

expectations are that with a squad of players as talented as Englands' they should be able to perform at this level. They are lucky to have the 4 points; comparable teams have cruised to 6 points

Scotland fans know they have a few descent players but are up against teams with way more talent so to get anything is good

Well so far germany and Spain have but i would say that Italy are at least comparable and they only have 3 points.
Looking at the set up and how it works England could well have already qualified on 4 point as one of the best placed teams to finish 3rd in their group. Scotland could also carry on through that back door as well.

that's because they have played (and lost to) another team in the world top 10 No disrespect intended but Denmark are not a top 10 team

had we been grouped with Belguim or Portugal and drawn against them I would have been happy but the crux is you need to win the group to get the easiest(on paper at least) team in the round of 16. Had they won against Denmark then the next game would have no pressure and he could rotate the squad now they have to work hard at this game to win group and the squad will be less fresh for the round of 16 game.

I think Southgate made a huge mistake leaving Rashford out. He has huge experience and plays his heart out in an England shirt as well as being good at setting up other players (especially kane) with shooting opportunities

I think a draw will be enough to win the group. However we do need a massive improvement in the way in which we are playing.

It’s a valid(ish) point but we were rubbish.

All the top teams in England play out from the back with confidence, yet the national team struggles.

In all fairness the manager has only had 8 years to get it right.

well i think that was one of the best games we've had so far Poland played well but austria were superb showing just how it should be done.

And following on from Sussex's point most premier league teams know how to press England are the only team at the Euros that don't how to !

and as for advertised "great game" the pundits were predicting France vs netherlands underwhelming to say the least

That is it for Scotland then and it makes it easier for England to qualify on 4 points.

I didn't think it was a penalty. Yes the defender put his arm across the attacker but the attacker was pulling on the defenders shirt and he deliberatly slowed down so that he could "go to ground". He would have probably done better if he had just taken the shot instead of looking for a penalty.

Without kicking a ball.

Which given their first two matches isn’t such a bad thing.

what a great game Austria beating netherlands 3-2 in the end but very exciting and Holland end up 3rd place but must qualify with 4 points.

So what are the chance of England Slovenia being anything more than a bore draw ?

well Belguim were worse than England  but sadly Ukraine couldn't get the goal that would have put them out

They were rubbish.

I hope teams will now try to play more attacking football in the knockouts, rather than the we must qualify for the next stage no matter what.
